I’ve been using Cadence exclusively for over a year now, over 10,000 km of cycling. Previously, I was using the Apple Watch workout system for 3-4 years, but at some point Cadence became more competent than that. The developer is very active and has good attention for detail.
What this does better than apple watch that sold me:
- Customisable views
- Better ecosystem support (export to Apple Health, Strava, Intervals.icu all at once)
- Radar support
I did buy a Garmin to test whether it works better, but returned it. The UI/UX and ecosystem support was very much lacking. If you expect to get data from Garmin to Apple Health without jumping through many hoops, you should definitely not even consider the Garmin device.
Wahoo is still on my to-try list, but Cadence keeps getting better at a rate that I’m not sure I’ll ever have to. More than anything for me, the convenience of having a phone on the handlebars which controls my music, allows me to get important messages, allows quick access to ride with gps for planning adjustments when things don’t go to plan, weather, etc is the biggest advantage.
Cadence will continue to grow and has a bright future.
