Tl;dr: I initially planned to use this as a trial before investing in a Garmin Edge. But this app is so good, I’ll keep using it instead! Incredible value for money.
Longer version: I already owned a Garmin watch (for running), so when I started looking into triathlon and specifically cycling, I was keen to find a suitable bike computer. I wasn’t ready to splash out on an expensive Edge, so I checked YouTube for cheaper alternatives, and this app seemed to have great reviews. I love having all the data (more on the devices/sensors/integrations/battery below), as well as the ability to customise all the screens, layouts, fields, and even the colours. But the main thing for me is having a big map with a clear route to follow. I also really appreciate the considerations given to data privacy; my data stays on my phone unless I decide otherwise. Bonus points: The developer responded right away to my query, which is fantastic and a great sign that this app will only get better! Connectivity / accessories wise: At the moment of this review, I’m running v2.5.17 of the Cadence app with an Elite subscription on an iPhone 15 Pro. I’ve successfully connected my Polar H10 chest strap, the Garmin Cadence Sensor 2, and the Garmin Varia RTL515 light/radar. And I connected to Strava, so I can upload activities with one click. All are working perfectly! I bought a QuadLock case and mount. I’ve been playing with different Cadence settings to make the battery last longer and never run out, even on 3hrs+ rides.
