How do I create or edit a Training Plan?
ATTENTION: This support documentation is for Cadence version 2.6 which has not yet been released and is currently in beta testing.
Training Plans are simply a collection of associated Workouts with date offsets. You can create Training Plans from scratch, import shared Training Plans that were originally created with Cadence, and download Training Plans from supported services.
To add and modify Workouts in a Training Plan:
- Tap “Add Workout” at the bottom of the list to add new workouts.
- Tap a workout to select a different one.
- Tap “Edit” above the workout list to modify their date offset.
Once in “Edit” mode, use the up and down arrows or tap and hold to drag and drop a Workout and change its date offset. There are three “Date Change Modes” to choose from when editing the date offsets:
- Independent: Adjusts only the selected workout; other workouts stay put. When you drag a workout, its date snaps into the nearest gap.
- Cascade: Adjusts the selected workout until it meets a neighbor, then shifts all workouts together. Dragged workouts swap offsets and maintain their gaps.
- All: Shifts every workout up or down together, preserving the gaps between them. Dragged workouts swap offsets and maintain their gaps.

To create a new Training Plan:
- Tap “Add Training Plan” at the bottom of Cadence > Settings > Training & Workouts > Training Plans.
- Select one of the following options:
- Create Training Plan
- Import File (Cadence format only)
- Download from Services
When choosing Download from Services:
- All available plans will be listed by service, and plans already in your library will have a folder icon with a check mark.
Handling duplicate Training Plans and Workouts:
- Duplicate Training Plans aren’t allowed. If you want to update a Training Plan, you must first delete it.
- When reimporting or redownloading the same plan, any workouts that were previously associated with the old plan will be reassigned to the new plan.
See “How do I start following a Training Plan?” for information on starting a Training Plan.
